TDIH Spanish treasure ships sink

On this day in history 1715 a hurricane strikes the east coast of Florida. it sunk 10 Spanish treasurer ships and kills about 1000 people. all the gold and silver fell overboard. some coins still wash up on the beaches of Florida today. the ships had just left Cuba and where on there way to Spain.
